Testimonials

V.J.

“Thrivivors is a safe place where listening, sharing and support from others who have like experiences come together. Healing, growth and sympathetic understanding is found here. Childhood trauma from sexual abuse can absolutely affect the positive outcome in life, leaving the victim vulnerable and lost. We often make choices that continue leading us in the wrong direction in the aftermath of such horrific abuse. Lost, lonely and burdened with shame we do not know where to go for support. Thrivivors is a community of love, compassion and understanding. A place to know you’re ok, not at fault and that you are loved. A community where survivors’ thrive.”

JAN BROBERG

Founder

Jan Broberg became a household name after the award-winning documentary based on her kidnapping in the 1970’s, Abducted in Plain Sight, was released on Netflix in 2019.  Jan is an accomplished actress having appeared in over 50 films and television shows.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brigham Young University for her studies in Cinematic Arts and Theatre and served as the Executive Director of the Center for the Arts at Kayenta in St. George Utah from 2017 through 2022.

In January 2022, Jan launched The Jan Broberg Foundation, created to highlight her mission of helping victims of abuse heal and thrive, and to prevent abuse from happening by emphasizing the insidious crime and pathology of the groomers who perpetuate these crimes.  Jan serves as a producer on the NBC series, A Friend of the Family, which is based on her family’s horror story being groomed and abused by a trusted family friend. Jan is grateful to be a mother and inspired daily by her favorite and only child Austen Duke Tanner.

In January 2023, Jan launched Thrivivors, a supportive, interactive online community for survivors of childhood sexual abuse and their loved ones. Thrivivors was created to provide a safe space for survivors to thrive throughout their healing journey. Her staff is made entirely of survivors, or loved ones of survivors, so that the experience is perfectly tailored to provide the most effective tools for healing.
